Peas, corn and many types of beans can be bought frozen ready to cook

The avocado soup is therefore a special treat for gourmets. The preparation is not difficult – you need the following according to a recipe from the magazine "Delicious" for four servings of avocado soup: 3 avocados1 tomato1 onion1 lemon half (juice only) 1 clove of garlic250 g whipped cream0.75 l vegetable broth2 tablespoons oilPine nutsBasilSaltPepper

Step 1: sauté the avocados

The first thing you need to do is prepare the avocado and lift the pulp out of the avocados. To do this, cut the fruit in half, remove the stones and scrape out the meat with a spoon. Next, cut the onion and clove of garlic into small cubes and sauté both in oil. Add the avocado pulp and sauté it just as briefly.

Step 2: prepare the avocado soup

Now pour the lemon juice over and puree the whole thing briefly – use the cutting stick of the puree for this. Add the vegetable stock and whipped cream to the whole thing and add more heat. Then turn off the stove and season the soup with salt and pepper.

Potato soups go down well with most of us – preferably the beloved version that grandma already made. Every now and then it’s time to try something new. Enjoy this hip soup made from the delicious tubers.

At "Melierecipes" a powerfully warming soup made from two kinds of potatoes comes onto the table. It is not cooked much differently than the classic version. Chorizo, the spicy Spanish sausage specialty as an addition, also heats up.

A creamy variant with sweet potato

In the soup of Kiki from "Cinnamon & Coriander" In addition to cauliflower, sweet potato plays the main role. This gives the dish a fine sweetness and a nice creamy texture. Roasted cauliflower gives the soup a slightly smoky aftertaste. A soup to feast on "spoon stupid and stupid" can!

A very simple, pureed potato soup with a few ingredients is available from Ann-Kathrin von "Penne in the pot". The whole thing is served in a large, hollowed-out potato roll from the baker. This is how the classic becomes a beauty.

Buy in stock

Food such as grain, rice, pasta, flour, sugar, spices, oil as well as canned and frozen goods can be stored and can be bought in larger quantities. Be sure to regularly replenish supplies so that you have them right at hand when you need them. A stock plan in which you enter the quantity and shelf life of the food creates a good overview. Take advantage of discount promotions to save money at the same time.

For canned and frozen food, you should use so-called mono products for a healthy diet. These consist of only one component and they are only little processed. The more processed a food is, the more preservatives, fat and sugar it usually contains. Leftovers from meals, as well as many types of vegetables, fish, meat and bread can also be stored frozen for a long time.

Pre-cooking saves time

Many dishes such as stews or casseroles are easy to prepare and are even tastier the next day. When frozen, they are also suitable as healthy frozen meals. Simply cook a larger amount and serve as a side dish with a fresh salad or a quick side dish. In general, you can cook side dishes such as potatoes, rice or pasta in large quantities and vary them with fresh ingredients every day. Vegetables and lettuce remain fresh, washed and chopped in a plastic box until the next day.

You can save time when cooking by using vegetables that are easy to peel or can be eaten with the skin on. Bell peppers, zucchini and mushrooms can be prepared unpeeled. Peas, corn and many types of beans can be bought frozen ready to cook. Large potatoes and carrots are peeled faster than small, thin ones. You can shorten the cooking time by cutting the vegetables into relatively small pieces.

Quick and healthy recipes

1. Pasta with parsley pesto

Noodles are the classic when it comes to quick meals. In addition to tomato sauce, homemade pesto is the ideal accompaniment to pasta. For a quick parsley pesto you will need the following ingredients:

2 bunch of flat leaf parsley 1 bunch of basil 1 tbsp pine nuts 40 g freshly grated Parmesan cheese 100 ml olive oil

(Source: brigitte.de)

This is how quickly the pesto works

In the first step, the herbs are washed off, dried and roughly chopped. Then put the herbs, pine nuts, parmesan and half a teaspoon of salt in a tall blender jar. Slowly pour in the oil and use the hand blender to make a pesto. Finally, add salt to taste.

Tip: If you omit the parsley and increase the amount of basil, you get classic basil pesto. Instead of herbs, you can also use dried tomatoes and black olives to conjure up a red pesto. You can also experiment with different types of pasta.

Then peel and clean the carrots and peppers. Cut the vegetables into fine strips. After cleaning, the spring onions are cut into fine rings. Crumble the feta.

For the pancake batter, stir together the flour, baking powder, eggs, milk, mineral water and about 1⁄2 teaspoon salt to form a smooth batter. In December, the weather is often cold and damp. But especially then there is a lot for garden owners to do. Because as long as there is no permafrost, December is the ideal time for the rough.

Even if the weather does not invite you to garden, you should take action now so that your plants do not suffer and lose too much energy at this time of the year. In addition, the effort is rewarded: In spring a healthy, beautiful garden awaits you, which you can enjoy to the fullest.

Cut and plant trees

A mild December without permafrost is the ideal time for the rough: Trees whose sap always flows strongly when cut in spring should be pruned now. Willows in particular are easy to cut, experts from the Botanical Garden of the University of Potsdam tell t-online. The cuts should always be made on the side facing away from the rain. For larger wounds, hobby gardeners are recommended to close the wound, for example with tree wax or similar.

You can also replant trees now – this is always possible until the ground freezes. However, you should make sure that you tie up and support young trees well. The earth should also be trodden accordingly so that the new plants have a secure footing even in wind and icy storms. In addition, you should always water the young plants that do not yet have strongly branched roots sufficiently during dry periods on frost-free days.

you can cut at the beginning of the month and put in a vase. According to tradition, the cut takes place on December 4th, the day of St. Barbara. With a little luck, the Barbara branches will bloom just in time for Christmas and offer a beautiful Christmas decoration arranged between green fir branches.

Barbara branches need a cold shock to bloom in December. It can help to put the cut twigs in the freezer first or to put the twigs on the balcony on a frosty night.

Water evergreens even in winter

Whenever the temperatures are positive and it is dry, the hobby gardener should water the evergreens. Because in winter trees usually do not freeze to death, they die of thirst. When the sun is shining, boxwood or spindle bushes need water, but they cannot pull any from the frozen ground. And: Thick blankets of snow on the plants should be removed, otherwise they will break.

However, hardy plants usually do not have the problem. They can also survive longer periods of frost unscathed: These plants can turn their metabolism down to a minimum at appropriate temperatures. However, if the sun shines heavily on the plant during the day, the cycle is cranked up accordingly. However, a sharp change in temperature due to frosty nights can still cause frost damage. This can be prevented with the help of a layer of mulch through autumn leaves or bark mulch.

Set up a feeding place for birds

All year round, all kinds of birds look for food in the gardens. As soon as the cold season sets in, however, food often becomes scarce and you should offer the birds sufficient food.

The native birds can basically be divided into grain-eaters and soft-feeders. Finch and sparrow, for example, belong to the first type of food and are happy about sunflower seeds.
